Hatchling help

Ok, my husband is a salesman and he just got me a mojave/normal mix hatchling From a customer of his who happend to be a breeder. I need some help the breeder cut the shell Wednesday and officially came out yesterday. I don't have a tank to put him in plus he's so small that I'm going to temporarily put him in a clear shoe box style container. My question is what does he need? I know I need tto keep him with moisture and I also know I need to feed him after he sheds. Please any input will be greatly appreciated.

My first piece of advice is do not take the baby until the "breeder" has fed the snake 3 times. and the snake has had its first shed.
What is a mojave normal mix? As far as i know there is none it is either a mojave or a normal.
If you till insist on getting the baby
You need a cage-your container
waterbowl
substrate(paper towels)
heat that is regulated by a thermostat.

Thanks for the reply. Well my husband brought him home for me, so I can't go bring him
back. The mom was a normal and the dad was a mojave. I guess then its a normal (new to the snake world so I will make mistakes) tomorrow I'll go out and get the thermostat but for now he should be ok.

The breeder should at least get the hatchling to take 3-5 meals to make sure it is ok, before letting you bring it home. In the meantime, a good place to start is the caresheet:

thanks, I borrowed one temporarily from my other BP, it doesn't get that hot, I think something's wrong with it but besides the point, I put a thin hand towel on top of it aand then put container above it. I think for one night it should be ok, the heat let the humidity rise which is what I wanted. Tomorrow I'll get what I need so it's all properly regulated.

Great, thanks for the links. I know he shouldn't of given it to us yet, my husband knows nothing about BPs he thought he was doing something good. I guess it'll be a learning experience for me and I hope all turns out well. He looks healthy and is moving around but I don't know enough about BPs to judge that myself.
