learned something new.
So I thought my bp was going on a hunger strick but it turns out it had to do with my being slightly less than inteligent. Basicly I wasnt being patient and letting her sit after removing her hide, I would remove it and present the rat and she would strike and not coil, seemed quite defensive. Any ways I was able to try again after letting her wait for about 30 min and bam she struck and coiled and then ate it.

They like to do the sneak attack from out of their hides, I would leave them in.

If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.

I'd leave the hides in. I remember when i fed live the rat would run in and never came back out. Once i heard the strike id take off the hide and make sure they got a good hit.

I move Tiberius to a feed tub with nothing in it and he does fine. I put the mouse by his normal cage for about 10 minutes and then I move him to the feeder bin. I let him sit for 15 minutes and then I present the mouse. He strikes and coils as soon as the mouse is within striking distance. I watch the strike and coil then no put his lid on for privacy.
