can my cat eat feeder mice?

My snake, Peter Parker, sometimes won't eat his mouse. It's very frustrating to have to throw away a mouse so often because he's just not interested. Sometimes he wont strike, sometimes he will and just drop it after a while and not want it. My question is, instead of wasting the mouse, is it ok to give to my cat? She is 13 years old and has never eaten a mouse, live or pre-killed. I'm not sure how much raw meat shes eaten in her life either. She was my moms, but I got her after my mom moved away. I've had her for about 3 weeks now and she eats nothing but dry food and sometimes deli ham. Is it safe for her? What if the snake already touched it?

The snake touching it won't harm her. But I don't know if I would give it to her. Imo, cats like to play with them when they are alive, more than eat them. Plus, what a mess. Just count your losses...

I feed feeder animals to my other predatory pets. My ferrets go nuts for them. My friend who breeds mice feeds her ferrets and cats. The cats do eat the mice.

Whole prey from a reputable source is safe and much more healthy than most commercial foods.

My cat loves to sneak outside and kill whatever he can catch (mice, rats, moles, voles, baby bunnies, birds) but he never actually eats them. Just leaves them for me to pick up and dispose of.

My cat eats feeder mice all the time but yes it can be messy, I usually give her prekilled ones or feed her in the bathtub.

safer than field mice for sure. who knows what they carry. maybe as a nice treat (outside). btw, what are your temps, and have you tried a rat? (how big is your snake?)

if you have a bearded dragon, I'm sure (depending on size) it might like it too.

Re: can my cat eat feeder mice?

When I had my baby bp and i ordered the right size pray it wasn't worth saving since I knew he would grow out of it in very soon. I got a bag of 100. our cat loved the hell out of the feeder mice... never once fazed her that they where not alive she would play with it for a bit then eat it.
