I'm wondering about the heating in my new snake's enclosure. He's in a 30 gallon tank with a 75W infared bulb over the screen top. It seems too hot on the hot side, and to cool on the cool side. Right now, it's 95 degrees under the bulb and about 78 on the opposite side. I'm most worried about the 95 degrees on the warm side. Is it not supposed to go above 90? I haven't seen him over there in almost a week, so I'm wondering if it's just too hot for him.
I'm open to any suggestions. Some of you have reccomended human heating pads instead of bulbs. Would that work with this kind of tank?
My humidity seems okay, so far it's stayed around 50.

It can stay between 90 and 95...but you don't want it going over 95 for sure.
Yes, a heat pad would work...just be sure to put some sort of spacers under the tank to allow a little air to circulate with the pad. If that warms it enough, you can ditch the light and your humidity might stay a little higher as well.

I would ditch the lights for sure. BPs do not bask and too much light can stress them as well. Human heat pads are the way to go IMO. Like JLC said, be sure to allow some air flow between the pad and the cage or you'll have a potential fire hazard or possibly burn your snake.

What can I use for spacers?

Tiles, rubber pads, actual spacers from walmart, anything the appropriate size that can take the weight and won't slip.
3.1.1 BP (Snyder, Hanover, Bo Peep, Sir NAITF, Eve), 1.2.3 Rhacodactylus ciliatus (Sandiego, Carmen, Scooby, Camo, BABIES ), 1.0 Chow (Buddha), 0.2 cats (Jezebel, PCBH "Nanners"), 0.3 humans

1/2 to 1 centimeter of space should be plenty.
