I'm wondering about the heating in my new snake's enclosure. He's in a 30 gallon tank with a 75W infared bulb over the screen top. It seems too hot on the hot side, and to cool on the cool side. Right now, it's 95 degrees under the bulb and about 78 on the opposite side. I'm most worried about the 95 degrees on the warm side. Is it not supposed to go above 90? I haven't seen him over there in almost a week, so I'm wondering if it's just too hot for him.

I'm open to any suggestions. Some of you have reccomended human heating pads instead of bulbs. Would that work with this kind of tank?

My humidity seems okay, so far it's stayed around 50.
