    Permits?

Do you need special permits to Breed and sell snake in The U.S.A. or more specifically Illinois?

As far as I know in IL the only thing you need a permit for is owning native endangered species (like hognoses). You probably have to do some sort of business-dealy if you make over a certain amount in sales, but I don't really know.

Check your states Parks & Wildlife site. It should have the info for any permits needed. Also check your cities laws to make sure they don't have any restrictions.

In Texas a permit is needed to own(private permit) or breed and sale(buiseness permit) certain large breeds and some native hots. But then in Houston you are not to have a snake that gets over 9(I think) ft.

I would start with your state laws and work down to your local laws and ordnance. If you don't find the info call the game warden office and ask.

There are many assumptions that permit only pertains to normal phase western hognose. I spoke with the IDNR endangered species project manager and he confirmed residents of Illinois must possess a permit regardless of hognose morph.
let me know if you have any further questions.
