Snake safe air fresheners or incense?

As the title kinda says , I'm wondering if there are any snake safe air fresheners or incense I could use around my snakes? I clean the cages twice a week plus spot cleaning when needed so it isn't that there is a bad smell in the snake room, just general animal smell. I don't really notice it but I realize it could smell odd to visitors.

Not sure if there is anything I should avoid or would things like scented candles or burning incense stick be fine? Fabreeze or the carpet powder stuff you sprinkle then vaccuum up ok?

    Thanks for any tips.

We've used incense around the house with no ill effects to the animals, but I'd avoid anything with cedar in it. A friend of mine had some incense burning that had cedar scent or oil (whatever they use) and one of her snakes started wheezing.

Re: Snake safe air fresheners or incense?

Yeah I planned to avoid cedar anything due to the harmful effects possible in reptiles. Just wasn't sure if there was anything else I should watch out for that I was not aware of.

My girlfriend started keeping those little inexpensive air fresheners that pop up and have the christmas tree shaped gel inside them inside my snake room. Now it just smells like reptiles under a rose bush instead of reptiles Joking aside, it helps a little bit and there is no ill effect on the animals. I wouldn't burn anything around my animals.

    Regards,

    B

I just use fabreeze every now and then and that seems fine, sometimes i will have them wall plug in smelly things as well

My wife always has candles or some stuff going, never had a problem. I'd avoid any aerosol sprays though, not sure about incense that can be some strong stuff. But it probably just all depends where you burn it at. I wouldn't set it on top of your snake's cage, but on the other side of the room probably wouldn't be the worst thing.

If the snake has proper ventilation and the aerosol isn't pointed ordirected towards the snake, I wouldn't see a problem.

Everything in moderation and you'll be fine.

I won't be filling up my snake room with the smoke from five burning incense sticks at a time constantly all day long.

    I use an air purifier.
I have like 8 around the house cuz my family has death allergies and I have none. So they need them and hey,
My snake room smells like air.

Why does the room smell at all? I have 12 snakes in mine and there is absolutely no smell period. Do you clean and disinfect (following the instructions)? I would wonder where the smell is coming from. Personally I would not use chemical deodorizers and in stead rely on natural ones like sweet fern or something along those lines.
