New colour to me. (Satin gold brown)

Hi, cleaning day for me today, and was amazed at the colours of my new rats. Last litter I had those "American Blues" or close to it. Here I have some satin gold/brown colour. I hope the colours stay with them, as I really dig this look. Not sure if they have albino eyes yet, as they haven't even opened yet. I tried searching through google (off one search), and no luck. Anyone know the proper name for them, or is it just "fancy rats"? Cheers

Thanks very much. Are these rare, and what would be a common selling dollar be on these? I think I have 3, one with small patches or blotches on his head.

It's a recessive trait, we feed as many blues, Siamese and other colors as we do blacks...

When I sold pet rats I sold all colors at the same price.

If I'm able to get an extra $5 for a rare colour (which the local stores may or may not have) I'll try. Not a huge city here, so maybe I can get some more for it.

Maybe, every area is different, can't hurt to try.
My area is the pet rat capitol of the world I think, not much is rare here except dwarf and minks and a few other harder to make/get genetics.

I think it depends on what's common and uncommon in your area.
In my location, siamese are rare. Minks are everywhere. And the thing about siamese rats, most will loose their baby color and molt to the typical point markings (like the siamese cat). So they may or may not keep those patches on their heads. I have a siamese girl who was born tan hooded, then faded to siamese later. But all of her siamese offspring look typical solid gold brown (like yours).

there is really no ads for special rats....some double rex, a few give aways. I know my local pet store takes trades, which works for me as well. :-D

    Siamese pink eye

Black eyed Siamese are pretty sweet too, even rarer yet

    Young black eyed Siamese

Siamese like this tends to lose all coloring except the white, but not always

I wish we had cool rats like that around here!!! I don't have that cool of rats, but I have the coolest rats in the area, no one breeds or likes pet rats in Iowa
