Good diet for my darts

I have two dart and i would like two more just wondering what is a good diet for them i have been getting pinhead crickets just wondering what else they can eat

You can feed them spring tails or wingless fruit flies. Josh's Frogs is a good place to order those.

Yea my friend has them and he feeds them flightless fruit flies. You buy them in a culture and once theyre grown you sprinkle them in like parmesean cheese lol.

Yep, fruit flies and springtails! Best bet is to do some research on culturing your own flies. You can buy pre made culture media or look up some recipes to make your own. You can order the cups and lids for making your own cultures as well. We typically make about a dozen cultures a week to keep up with our frogs and some friends. Don't forget to dust the flies with calcium supplements! Rapashi makes some of the best supplements! There are also a couple of different flightless fly species. One of them stays smaller but cultures quickly and another one gets bigger but takes longer to culture. Dendroboard is a good resource for all things dart frogs, but they are very strongly opinionated and not nearly as friendly as bp.net! Be cautious!

Good advice from TF about the dusting and Dendroboard.

Be sure to dust with a calcium supplement and vitamin supplement. There have been studies to show that the supplements need to be replaced every 6 months as the light and oxygen breaks down the ingredients.

Wingless fruit flies -D. melanogaster
Flightless fruit flies- the larger and faster sibling- D. melanogaster
Hydei fruit flies- D. hydei
Tropical isopods-
Springtails- tropical and temperate
Bean Beetles
Rice Flour Beetles
Wax Worms -as a treat


Fruit flies are by far the easiest to feed and culture. Josh's Frogs has everything you need to get cultures started and they are great people.
