Really????
I know this happens all the time but I seriously can't believe it just happened to me. My new adult bee is in my little sister's room and my stepfather just told me this: "I'm going to tell you this right now. If that snake gets out and does anything I'm going to fry all your other snakes."
My mom asked him what he thought it was going to do. Apparently he's afraid it's going to get out and kill my little sister.
I'm upset that he's both that ignorant and that he would say that to me. I still can't believe he said it. Some of my females in the other room are way better and the cage the bee is in has a locking lid, never mind the fact that killing a little girl is going to be the last thing on any snake's mind after it escapes.

Tell him that frying tends to cover the natural flavours in the snake. Poaching or broiling really brings out the natural tangyiness.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

i would suggest that you talk to him and explain that its ok to be afraid of what you dont understand and that maybe you could explain some info to him . and you would like his help to secure the rest to make sure they dont get loose again

Lol! My dad has the same fears for my daughter. She a year old and while yes it is possible that one of my big ladies could kill her the likeliness is soo low its almost non-existent. If any of my snakes escaped their enclosures they wouldnt even be able to get out of the snake room cuz the door is sealed.... I just tell him hes overreacting....

Re: Really????
I tried explaining the much greater risk of one of my dogs hurting someone than one of my snakes.....now my parents are worried about the dogs lol. Doesn't help that they live in FL and are inundated with man-eating everglades snake stories. I just keep trying to educate.
