Newborn hatchlings?

I just purchased a female bumblebee fresh out of the egg at a reptile show, with a little umbilical cord still hanging on. She has not shed yet, and I was wondering if there were any specific tips on keeping newborns? Also, how often does a problem feeder come along in your clutches? Lastly, when I bought her, she wasn't headshy or nervous in the slightest, could that be an indication that she might feed better? Thanks, Benek!

keep her in on damp paper towels until she sheds out... then after that try to offer her food... sometime the say that aggressive babies make better eaters... but being head shy is something that most ball pythons are, especially as baby... in the wild they are scared of getting stomped on my elephants!! lol

For your sake and her's I hope things go well. But I'd love to know why you thought it was a good idea to buy her with no experience in caring for a snake that young ? And what kind of idiot sold her to you ?

Sounds like they are a bit desperate to make a quick buck regardless of the snakes health and welfare. It ticks me off....

i would also love to know who sold you a snake that just came out of the egg? Also to the OP did you tell him you had experience raising up hatchling BP's? Is that why he sold it to you?
IMO I would have to be extremely close to someone, if i was going to buy a hatchling right out of the egg w/o a first shed or meal. What happens if something goes wrong with the umbilical cord or first shed? Did the breeder tell you he would refund you?

I bought her from HGI reptiles, and I was told that she should be no problem to start up. Maybe it was just me being gullible, but they seemed to think that it would be easy for me. Well, I guess that's what I get for not consulting bp.net first. I really hope that she starts without issues, and if trouble comes, I have everybody here for help

She is sooo pretty! I picked up a cinnamon yesterday at herp world but he's a few months old. May I ask how much you paid for her? usually when they sell them so young they are less expensive.
