Need advice on breeding weight/age

Currently my albino and pastel girls are sitting at 1101 grams and 1221 grams and assuming they continue to eat I'm pretty sure they will be 1500+ grams by next breeding season. The thing is they will only be right at 2 years old. So I was wondering if it would hurt to at least try to pair them up. If they aren't mature enough will they just not go, or are there health issues that could arise?

I start my females at about 17 to 18 months old if they are at least 1300 grams and eating well.
I got eggs from 2 yellowbelly girls last year that started at 17 months old, perfectly healthy eggs and the females did awesome.

If a female is struggling to eat well at that age and weight I'd not start breeding them yet.

I agree, if they are eating fine and they are that big you could always try. There's a lot of people that will start breeding at 18 months. It's not a guarantee that's for sure. I bred my 2+ year old mojave female this spring, but I don't have anything to show for it. She's just not ready yet.

Ok I'll just wait to see how they are doing come November and decide then

I start breeding them when they hit 1600g (I breed year round). I do think its more complicated than a certain age/weight. Even though they are definitely large enough at 1600g, this doesnt mean they will go though. I had one female bred for the first time when she was 7 and a spider ovulate 30 days before her second birthday. So far I havent had any complications as long as the females are over the 1600g, even when they are young.
