O.k. I've got my tank up and running I still have a few Q's relating to the husbandry. This is mostly directed at David because I know he has alot of experinece with him but anyone else with experiece keeping these animals feel free to throw in your 2 cents and suggestions

my floor temps are hot side 80 cool side 70 i know i need to bring those up a little
my "tree" temp levels are an all around average of 80
my main problem is the humidity
it drops as low as 60 on the floor and only ever gets up to about 70
the higher up I go the more humid it gets
at the highest point that the animal can sit it averages out at about a steady 80 never reaching much higher
I have been misting every 6 hours during the day and don't mist for 10 hours during the night

    my question is this
is the lower hummidity on the floor going to cause problems?
    is the ambiant hummidity ok??
how is my overall temp and hummidity and what changes should I try to change b4 getting my ATB??

Well, you definitely need to up your temps.....do you already have the snake? Which cage is he in...the custm or the rubbermaid? If the temps are not steady in the custom cage, put him in the rubbermaid until you can stabilize them in the custom cage. The humidity sounds fine.....what substrate are you using?

I haven't got the snake yet because of temp and hummidity problems I just wanna make sure I get my tank clocked before i pick up my snake
i'm using the custom tank, I've got the floor temps raised up
the hot side being 85-90 the cool side 75-80

My hummidity was still a little low but I think i might just have it figured out
I have an exoterra fogger that i put in a tupperwear container and i drilled holes in the top and sides and i'm going out tonight to buy a timer for it. between the fogger and 2 misting per day I think i've just about got it all ready.

gotta couple more q's though my "tree" temps in the tank aren't going up past 74 and are dropping out around 70 is that to low???
and my ambiant hummidity as a nice 80 now

I just have to work out a few more bugs and I will be ready to get my ATB
    thanks for the help
i'm sure i'll be needing alot of it in the next couple of months!!

    p.s. my substrate is repti-bark
p.p.s. I'll post some pics of my tank later tonight as soon as I get around to it

You should have an ambient air temperature of no less than 75.....78-80 is ideal, but 75 is the lowest you want the ambient air temp to go. Perhaps a small heater in the room would help. The humidity sounds fine.....also I have found that cypress mulch is the best substrate for keeping humidity up....but if you decide to keep it in the rubbermaid, paper towels would be the best way to go so that you can monitor the bowel movements at first to be sure he is healthy.

the ambiant temp I can find someway to fix now my problem is condensation on the sides of the tank.
correct me if i'm wrong but thats bad and can lead to mold
what is the best way to be rid of the moisture on the wall without losing my hummidity

would vents on the top of the enclosure help??

well pimp, i house in tanks so i know quite a bit about moisture... if you drill some holes in the top, i'm more than positive the heat would continue to rise, dragging moisture out along with it. i'd say start with a few holes, and gradually drill more till you've done enough.

thats what i was thinking but will that comprimise the high hummidity that i need to maintain??
I've just going to drill one hole at time untill the moisture is gone

I'll get this damn tank down if it kills me
all i want is my new ATB and i can't get it till i get this tank clocked
    oh what fun!!!!
