Cleaner
Hey guys, I was just wondering what everyone uses to clean their tubs? I don't mean to disinfect, but to get stubborn urates and such off the tubs? I use Chlorhexadine to disinfect, but it's not really a good cleaner. Any advice would be appreciated.

Diluted bleach solution and a scrubby. Not a metal scrubby though bc thatll scratch the tub and bacteria will get into the scratches.
Not trying to be that guy, but this topic comes up ALL the time so if you search for it youll find plenty of threads on it.

F10 to disinfect. If you spray down and let it soak for a minute or two, they usually wipe right out. But, umm.... fingernails if anything is stuck....

I like Nature Cleaner from Rich at RBI. It works great in conjunction with the chlorexhedrine to disinfect. The Nature Cleaner is safe for contact with the snakes (I take them out first) and it doesn't smell too bad either. I remove the majority of the pile or puddle, depending, then spray that on and let it soak for a few before wiping it out and then repeating to clean anything left over. It kills the smell pretty well too if you have any residual STANK! after you clean, lol! Amazon has it cheaper for a gallon than what Rich does but I'd rather support his business than Amazon's but anyway...my two cents.

jtomb1510 you are right on, disinfectants are not cleaners attempting to use them as cleaners neutralizes the nature of the product in the first place you might as well use water and save your money you are not disinfecting anything. Chlorhexidine is especially susceptible but f10 is not exempt. To work the surface must be clean first.
I use f10sc XD this is the detergent cleaner product they make for really nasty stuff and for lighter cleaner I actually use the f10 hand soap. Although there is no reason why dish soap cannot be used either. I have a small plastic scraper that I used for the odd stuck uranate.
fort dodge instructions for nolvasan chlorhexidine.

F10 instructions
http://www.healthandhygiene.co.za/ha...0Isolation.pdf
My bottle CLEARLY states;
'clear away loose debris, clean with f10SCXD Veterinary Disinfectant/Cleanser or F919sc biofilm Remover if necessary and rinse off. Dilute F10SC Veterinary Disinfectant with clean water and apply as a wash, or thorough a spray...'
The instructions are common to all disinfectants...
1. clean all debris away from surfaces using a detergent or soap,
2. rinse away the soap detergent.
3. Saturate with the disinfectant
4. Wait for the correct contact time (if you do not know the exact one 20-30 min is very common.
5. Rinse off or not it varies with the agent used.
The only way you know a disinfectant is working is to follow the instructions perfectly, or do a culture.
