    Huge diamondback

    Didn't think this would go in field herping, since I didn't find it.

    A co worker got this pic in a text from his son who lives in Phoenix Arizona. They were working a construction job and he stumbled across it in an irrigation ditch. After he ran away they called animal control, the animal control guy (in the pic) is 5' 2" and the snake is supposed to be 7'. I believe it. He released it away from the site.

    It's hard to really picture because the snake is being held out towards the camera on hooks, which makes it larger in the foreground and the guy looks so much smaller in the background. Wished they'd done it on the ground with something to give it some scale. Still a massive animal! But this photo makes it look HEEEEOOOOGE!

    I havnt seen one that big ever lol very cool they found it!

    The snakes are trying to hid out right now, its 110 in Phoenix at the moment..

    We did have one big rattler in our yard in Arkansas one time and it was awesome!

    It's sad, used to see easterns that big as a kid(usually after they were shot or run over, or both, though ). Glad to see some of those monster westerns staying under the radar and surviving, thanks for sharing!
