Is reading the whole thread too much to ask?

It seems like this happens a lot around here:

A thread is started and someone has a problem with something posted. Everyone gets into a little fight about it, things get resolved and apologies are exchanged. The thread moves on. A page later someone posts in regard to the original post that ruffled everybody's feathers, clearly having only read the first page, if that of the thread. They bring up the problem again, re-visiting a long dead issue.

Is it really that hard to read the whole thread before responding? I have noticed certain people around here that like to do that a lot and it seems to be getting worse recently.

Does this irk anyone else? Those of you that do it, is there some point? It just seems to be laziness/some need to cause drama.

Can I wait to answer until page 3?

Just kidding, yes I would agree it helps to read everything. Also not to highjack, but don't post anything on an old thread that might be emotinal to the op.

I hate it when people do that. Unless the thread is ridiculously long...(i.e. Female Keepers thread.) But in that instance, it doesn't matter. Any serious thread deserves to be read in full before comments are made though.

I completely agree with that, it's along the same line of bringing up negative feelings that have been laid to rest.

It depends on the thread, though I always try and read the latest 3 pages in long ones for context. If the issue warrants reading the whole thing, I will. What chaps me is when people read nothing BUT the first page. It's important in any topic to know where people are at and what's actually being discussed.

    I haven't read everybody's responses.. BUT...

I guess that's just one of those things that happens on forums. Water off a duck's back. Sometimes people do things to annoy people on purpose, and sometimes it just happens unintentionally. If you don't learn to chill out at annoying forum quirks, you'll be all sorts of wrapped up with frustration and angst.
