Well David and Pimp-n-python, both hit the nail on the head, by moving the thermometer away from the vent (doh!) Ive got a steady ambient temp of 79.2. I did do something a little differently though to achieve a temp. gradient lemme know what you guys think.
I put one heating pad on the left side of the enclosure and set it to medeum the other pad I put directly next to it (in the middle of the enclosure) and set it on low, the far right of the enclosure has nothing. With this configuration my ground temps are
And just a word on humidity....I think people put too much energy into worrying about it....its not as important with BPs as many people think....they don't come from the rainforest so its not that big of a deal, unless you live in an extreme area where the ambient humidity is super low (Alaska, Arizona)......I keep all of my BPs at room humidity until they shed then I mist them a couple times a day and I've never had anything but perfect sheds.
