Someone tell me the name of this....
I'm interested in what size meals people are feeding their BP's. I track feeds by weight of snake and prey, so I can convert it to percentages......for anyone else who does this, I would like to hear what your percentages are for mass fed per feeding.

Well, I never did it like that (looked at it as percentages). But now that you brought it up, I did a little math. I figure a small rat is inbetween 55-89 grams (as stated on rodentpro.com) and that's what I feed all my '03's. So, with that in mind, I guess I am feeding them about 10%-15% of their body mass. It differs though, they all weigh in the range of 400-600 grams. That doesn't seem like very much when put into numbers, but they have a full belly when they are done eating!
Oh, now lets see about the adult bp's. I feed them one or two large rats at a time, depending on what they will take. Since those are 175-295 grams (let's use 250), and my adults are anywhere from 1400-2200 (lets round it to 2000 ) grams, I guess that's about 12.5% per one rat of body mass. Wow, this is fun! lol... Is that a good percentage? All I know is they look quite full when they are through with their meals, and that's what counts.

i usually try to feed around 15-20% a really big meal would be almost 25%. i fed a 430g rat to a 1650g bp a couple days ago. thats actaully about 26%. i dont think it would be very good to go bigger than that. but ive heard people talking about feeding over 30% of the body weight. i sure wouldnt do that.

I don't know anything about percentages but I just feed my bp's according to their size.
