Re: Why is my bearded dragon SO MEAN!?

Wow...I guess I am pretty lucky. My beardie is super easy going. I handled him a lot in the year and a half since we have gotten him. I can holler across the room to say hello to him and he will tilt his head to listen to me. I talk to him all the time. He has never been aggressive so I don't have any advise. He used to be a tiny bit skiddish when I would reach in to rub his back and head but now he just doesn't care, I have done that a LOT. Every time I walk by his cage I talk to him and reach in to give him a pet.

I think the only thing I would give advise on is talking to your beardie a lot. Slowly reach in to either pet him/her or move slowly to pick him up. I would let him run around to catch his food. They need exercise too I think mine likes the hunt.

I hope he calms down for you.

Start by just placing your hand in the cage on the floor and let him get use to you...then when hes confortable move onto petting, etc. They will calm down, sometimes lizards need to build trust.

First off your going to want to feed him in his cage. Chasing crickets is fun and exercise for the young little guy. And as for the aggression just keep handling him and try hand feeding or tong feeding but he should grow out of it.
