    Thermostat question

What mid range ( price wise) thermostat do most if you guys use? Have wasted money on cheap ones but don't want to break the bank either. I need a new one for a small 4 shelf rack system with flex watt belly heat. Thanks

I'd go with either Ranco or Johnsons (I use one Johnsons...)....or if you needed cheaper I use Hydrofarms, they work pretty well for the $30 price tag.

Herpstat basic it is 99$ proportional and designed for use with reptiles. A prewired johnson or ranco is 80$ the herpstat offers much more options and ultimately value.

    Re: Thermostat question

I have the basic Herpstat and I love it. It has truly been a life saver and a sound investment.

Invest in a quality piece in the first place, and you won't have to replace it down the road : )

Few things as frustrating (or deadly, in the case of reptile setups) as crappy electronics.

We have used the Rancos and Johnsons over the years, and I currently recommend the Vivarium Electronics units.
