    cold side

i dont understand...my temps are good...85-90 on cold side and 90-95 on warm side and my humidity stays around 60 and i have 2 hides exactly the same.but ones pink and the other is purple....with crumpled up newspaper inside both..but for some reason punisher wants to stay on the cold side between the hide and the tank...and i have brownish green paper all the way around the tank accept maybe a foot in the front for viewing ..hes active at night...and eats good...so should i be concerned?...btw can i spray paint the hides to make both black? well i know i can but is there a certain spray paint that i need to use?

    Cold side should be 78-82
    hot side should be 88-92

Your tank is a tad bit too warm so hes probably just hot. Just bump the t-stat down a smidge.

EDIT: and i wouldnt bother spray painting anything. Here's the hides i use. Easy to clean, look good, good price, and theyll get to you FAST.

EDIT EDIT: theyll get to you reallyyy fast lol. You only live 2 hours away from RBI. If you have to go up to the greensboro area anytime soon then just stop in and see Rich. I think Trinity is close to Greensboro...?

Exactly what Mike said. Your temps to warm for your snake. He isn't getting the proper gradient to thermoregulate. The whole enclosure is the 'hot side'.

Cool side temps should be closer to 80.

    Re: cold side

ok i work on the temps..but my hides are the little tubs ususaly for kids toys...or some call shoe boxes....i allready had them so i figured i would try them there about the same size of the large ones they are too big for my baby thats why i put some newspaper in there but im going to add more to make it a little bit more snug for him..but if that doesnt work i will buy him some of those...

You can also buy dollar store plastic bowls. (not the disposable kind)

I cut an opening and use them for my young BPs and they fit perfectly. They out grow hides pretty quickly, so for a dollar, I don't feel like anything is wasted.
