Theresa, there were 13 babies that were had in Elena's possession ...I'd be very surprised if there were any to have been left behind (the doe I have at home had 8 and I believe they are siblings)! Elena would have happily given her to me before the litter was born if we'd been able to make it up sooner, it just didn't work out on our end. Elena even offered to (and did) cull a couple of her own litters so that the aby bubs could be split up and fostered to other does so there were not too many on one mother and to avoid having to cull any aby's (we prefer to keep no more than 6 bubs to a doe). One of the foster mom's wasn't doing a very good job, and the bubs started falling behind and getting thin, so she spread those bubs back to mom and the other foster mom and allowed me to take her doe temporarily to finish raising the litter.

Congrats on getting your doe ( and litter - Surprise, surprise...I knew Casey had to be waiting for something... )! What an amazing litter too! Sounds like you've got a great couple of does on your hands. Glad everything worked out for you!

Got some pics last night! Didn't take anyone out of the cage (and didn't get pics of the rest of the litter under the foster mom) though as I didn't want to stress anyone out too much after the big move!

This litter came from a male with whom you don't own? If so, congrats on the even better genetic diversity!

Correct...I do not own the male...I was not given a choice on the individuals I recieved. I was not able to go to the airport, so casey chose the ones she wanted to take and left me with her "rejects." I have no idea how good her choices were though. All of the abys shipped in were siblings anyway...so not really much in the way of genetic diversity. But **shrug** I'm just happy I have my girl and her litter Had she been here all along she'd have had a litter from buck I was given.
