Days from Ovy to pre-lay shed to eggs

What is the general number of days from the ovy to the pre-lay shed and then from the pre-lay shed to eggs, give or take? Things are looking like there will be need for an incubator in the not too distant future.

avg number of days from ovy to pre lay shed is 14 and avg number of days from pre lay shed to laying is 30. Both can vary significantly.

Re: Days from Ovy to pre-lay shed to eggs

Mine ovulated on April 29th and completely shed out on May15th. so 16 days for me. I have heard between 14-21 days from Ovulation to shed. Then 21-30days to eggs and sometimes 45 days if they are holding on to them.

Re: Days from Ovy to pre-lay shed to eggs

Thanks everyone for the responses. I have read the Markus Jayne info which is very well documented. I wasn't sure if that was recently authored or something from a while back. Just wanted to make sure that with all the breeders, hobbyists, etc., that there wasn't any enhancement on it.

It seems as if the most concrete milestone in the process is the pre-lay shed. That being said, it is entirely predicated on the certainty that an ovy occured in which the following shed is then the pre-lay shed. However, if you think they had an ovy and you are mistaken or miss the ovy, then what? Thats why I was trying to see if I could recognize more of the chronological order of things happening. A string of milestones, if you will?
