    Where to get an incubator?

How many of you guys built your own?
How many of you bought one? If so, where did you buy it?
    Do breeders sell their incubators?

I plan on pairing a few BPs this season and I'll need an incubator. I was considering picking one up at the expo, but I hear a lot of negative reviews on incubators that come boxed and ready to go. I really like the idea of building my own, but I'm no handy-man, and I'll probably have my buddy who IS a handy-man help me out. Leads me to my next series of questions..

Where can you get a dead fridge? or those fancy Cola coolers? Those are freakn sweet looking, and I'd love to have one of those!

Building your own is rather easy, there is probably several "how to " posts on here....I built one for a friend last week out of an old mini fridge....i have also made them out of regular ice coolers.

There are a ton of how to posts. I picked up an old wine reefer on CL and plan to convert it.

I've seen some of them that are posted here. I was just looking for some variety.

I coverted my incubator from a broken Red Bull mini fridge.

I got the fridge off of craigslist and documented in the post how I converted it. If you have any particular questions just let me know.

Use an old ice cooler, and use heated water in the bottom. They are a very simple design and work great. I know a lot of people that use this method and it works great. Also there is no need to worry about humidity.

Re: Where to get an incubator?

My first one I built out of a proofing/hot box, worked fairly nicely. Most recently, I threw one together out of a big cooler I got at wally world and some stuff I had lying around. Holds temps to within a half degree variance over the day.

You can pretty much make one out of anything. I wish we had an extra closet, I'd rig one up outta that.

Keep checking craigslist. Or ask friends, keepers, random people, whoever! Haha.
I just kept checking and checking craigslist until I found mine. I now have an big ole awesome double door pepsi fridge. I bought it as a WORKING cooler for $70.
    Don't give up!!
