I have a hard enough time getting a couple of mine to eat F/T...there is no way they would even look twice at a Snausage

I don't have any 1st hand experience, but about 7 years ago my best friend took his daughter to a community class on reptile ownership. They actually took the class twice because my friend had a snake in college and it died suddenly on him and he was still really worried it was something he did. (It was before I met him, dunno.) Anyways the class was otherwise good, promoted the "beginner three" and had a session on each reptile. During the cornsnake section they talked about the sausage, but my friend was told there was a brand that was 100% rodent(s) - just that it was ground bones, internals, and flesh in a more "kid friendly form." We all thought it was weird at the time and sorta missed the point about education about reptiles and prey.

/She ended up thinking snakes where "creepy" and geckos "would fall apart" and has been caring for her beardie since then.

Just generalizing. Don't worry, I know bp.netters don't make the list of irresponsible pet owners. It just upsets me to see so many morbidly obese dogs out there, and I have met a few people who overfeed their snakes.

one of the pythons books i got years ago, showed this as a viable option for snakes, never looked into it though. it is hard and expensive enough to get live food around here, last thing i need is snakes that only eat snausages.

The main problem I see with this is that it's not a food source a snake would take without tease feeding and it would fall apart. I feed my garter pinkies from Gourmet Rodents that you can purchase at PEtCo

My gator would probably scarf them down. Then again, he would pretty much eat anything anyway
