    My new bp

Hey everyone. I picked up my first Ball Python last night from Craigslist, pretty excited.

She looks a little skinny and a bit off. Am I right about this?

Yep she's kinda thin and looks terribly dehydrated. Gotta work on those old skin on your lil fella. How's her feeding response?

In the first picture it almost looks like there could be an issue in the vent area? If that skin around the neck circles all the way around the snake, you'll need to work some of that off. There are lots of threads/guides on stuck shed that will help with that.

That shed looks pretty dry and looks like it'd come off easy with having her move through a damp towel. I would try that and see if she can do that herself, it's less stressful than putting her in a "bath". Hope she starts feeding really good for you!

Yeah the damp towel method has worked really well for me. It should help hydrate her as well.

So I got my Bp off Craigslist. Even though she is a little rough I figured at least I would give her the attention she needed. I had to buy her after seeing her condition. Plus I got a great deal for her and the tank set up.

Thanks for the tips on removing the bad shed. I will start that tomorrow.

Most people that I've seen saying they got good deals, end up paying alot more than what its worth. But as long as you're happy that's all that matters.

So I weighed her today. I believe she is 6-7 months old and weighs 90 grams. That seems really, really light to me.
