Evolution Reptile
Anyone know about the Evo reptile PVC cages? I saw some at the last expo I was at, seem to be pretty nice. The size I want is 125 bucks which includes the cage, led light inside, and heat pad.

Re: Evolution Reptile
YA I was wondering that too. I saw them at cheswick pa. reptile expo last weekend and have only seen a few people talking about them. Their site I checked out today they seem pretty good for their price their racks are nice also they seem to be a bit thicker plastic than what I have seen in the past with the bonus of being a bit cheaper that competitors brands the cages I saw seemed to be well built and nice looking. Idk about the durability. Seem nice though. Maybe someone has them and can chime in.

Yea they seem like a good deal. With the PVC cages will a heat pad be enough to keep the temps good?

Heat pads "uth/flexwatt" won't really effect the air temps in the cage, they just create a hot spot, so if your room temps are low then the cage will be the same, you can ask serpent merchant he uses animal plastics pvc enclosures.

Here is my thread on PVC cages:
http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...With-Pictures!
Those cages don't look like they are made very well from the pictures I saw on their site. really thin plastic and poor overall design. Chemical welds can really be a pain if they aren't done right. unfortunately you can't tell without sticking your head in a cage to actually get a good look at them.
My other issue with them is that the door is acrylic. Acrylic scratches up pretty easily and can warp over time.
Without seeing one first hand I can't say anything for sure. I didn't like what I saw from the pictures but seeing one in person could leave an entirely different impression.

I don't think the enclosure was the issue. Sounds like a heat source issue to me. How were you heating the enclosure? Was it on a thermostat?
