    FYI

The Pet Food Direct price for the 5 bags of Native Earth is $127.44, with discount, shipping, etc. That translates to $31.86 per 50lbs. We were paying $21.20 per 50lbs. before this change. That's a 50% increase in cost.

Re: No more Native Earth on National Pet Pharmacy?

Ya I won't use them again for anything, a heads up would have been a different story and I understand it's business but shafting your loyal customers is bad business IMO. I'm ordering Kent's from a local feed store, $18 for a 50 pound bag sounds better since I'm flying through 100 pounds plus a month anyways lol. Good luck everyone hope you get your rat food situations squared away ASAP.

I'm still working on finding an alternative rodent food but I found something that might work for some people and is available from Purina distributors. You can find Purina distributors on Mazuri's site.

Nature's Match Complete Sow Oval (3/4 inch pellets) $15.99 for 50 lbs

I'm sure you could find it cheaper than my high end feed store.

I found a dealer that is giving me Mazuri 6F (50 lbs.) for $23.50 a bag. Sales tax brings it up to $25.15 compared to Native Earth at $31.86.

Mazuri quality is better. I was getting 1-3 pounds of dust in the 40 lb. bags of NE, something I don't see in the Mazuri bags.

I would love to get Kent for $14-$18 for 50 lbs. but it's just not available anywhere near me.

I'll mention this for anyone that cares to follow through and maybe make some money. I found local mills that would duplicate any existing food and bag it. They have a 500 lb. minimum and you would need to find a mill that has a die to create the block form but it can be done. You could become the manufacturer and sell locally. Cost was minimal and there was room to make a profit. Good luck.

I'll be calling up my local store this week to ask about getting the bales of aspen and/or kiln dried pine too. Nat Pet still hasn't called me about the autoship issue, since I still had the aspen(one bale!) on the autoship option.

    +2

Now, if I can just get them to order rodent food (or equivalent sow chow), then I'll be all set.

Re: No more Native Earth on National Pet Pharmacy?

I found the Mazuri 6F (50lb bag) within 10 miles for $27+tax locally. This is about the same price per bag for the 40lb Native Earth after shipping and tax with PFD... As a bonus they carry the kiln dried pine cheaper than I was getting it too (not from NPP or PFD). Unfortunately, the closest Tractor Supply to me is over 100 miles away in Bakersfield

Would have preferred to stay with Native Earth, but at least now I can say a final good riddance to National Pet Pharmacy and Pet Food Direct.
