When is the best time to look for babies
Is there a time of year for BP when most hatch? I want to pick up something in the hatchling to smaller juvenile size range. I am not sure when the best time of the year would be to go to a show and pick one up. Maybe they are always available I just thought I would clarify.

I always look during the spring. That's when the expos are in my area, and there always seem to be a lot of babies there!

well you start to see people having eggs being laid around now, so in about 3 months the market should be flooded

August has the highest amount of ads on Kingsnake. Prices are usually the most competitive typically.

I agree with Simple Man. Eggs will start to hatch in about 3 months, but it takes a little bit of time to get the hatchlings started. I think that's why you see so many babies avaliable in late July and August.
In my opinion it's better to let the breeder get the snake started than to take on a brand new hatchling that hasn't become an established eater yet.

April through October are prime times for hatchlings becoming ready to sell.
If you know what you want though, it's worth looking even before eggs are on the ground. Find breeders who have the parents that you want offspring from, and inquire about their season. Nothing better than getting first pick after the breeder from a clutch.
