Refuge for Burmese Pythons in Florida
Ben Siegel is undertaking this project, thought I would share.

The shop is only fifteen minutes from my house. I was thinking I might go ask if I could take my camera and snap a few photos of the project site and blog about it. Maybe get some positivity out there... Think it's a good idea?

I support Ben in what he's trying to accomplish.
Did you click on the comments section and read them? Some real educated folks down there in Margate...

The Burmese Python Initiative looks like it's off to an amazingly good start, especially considering the short amount of time in which things have been put together.

Very cool. As many snakes as can be saved from people's stupidity is a good thing. I also like that the facility has a limit of the number of occupants. As much as we want to save them all, "rescuing" every snake by housing it in improperly is hardly a step in the right direction. But saying "Hey, we can save 150 at a time and do it right" is very cool. Best of luck to Ben.

Glad to hear about this. Hopefully they can find homes for most of the Snakes.

Big ups to Ben Siegal and the BPI members this is one of the best and brightest things I've seen come out of the Herp industry. The herp world owes you guys a round of applause!!
We all should help, I know I'll try to help out which ever way I can down the road once it gets going.
