You can put him in a damp pillow case for about an hour to see if it comes off. Otherwise I wouldn't mess with the eye cap. You can wait until the next shed to see if it comes off. Just make sure your humidity is good.

Personally, I would leave it alone and see if it comes off with the next shed. If not, you can always have a vet remove it.

If you take the snake to a vet, take caution. There was a member here who had a vet accidentally remove the live eye cap membrane. That snake's eye got infected and will most likely have permanent vision problems with that eye.

But I'm sure it will come off with the next shed. Just make sure your humidity is up.

I can't stress enough the importance of not messing around too much with a stuck eyecap. Do a search on the pillow case method, and give that a try. If it doesn't work, just make sure your humidity stays consistantly good, and it should come off with the next shed.

Was the eyecap missing from the head shed, or can you see it on the eye?

    Re: ball python shedding problem

With all the stories of eyecap removal gone wrong I would leave it alone and wait till the next shed but that is my opnion
