Sealing a melamine rack for hatchlings?

Just wondering if anyone has tried, I thought of using like an epoxy or aquarium silicone. Any ideas, things you've tried. All input is appreciated!

Why would you need to seal Melamine? It's already coated

Well possibly because cut melamine is not sealed, and will absorb moisture. The edges of home-made racks won't be sealed.

The edges arent exposed to moisture unless your in the rainforest.

Just buy iron on Melamine edging and its done

Ohh sorry, I was thinking you wanted to seal the surfaces. I guess you've already solved it with the iron-on stuff!
