It was a lot of fun and cheered everyone up, but it did get a little sad for a while when we talked about it. I realized that cat was a year older than his younger sister, so this is a really really huge thing for her to deal with.

I do feel bad for bringing up such a graphic story here. I just didn't really know what else to do. I was distraught and just wanted to talk. I know I made some people sad and uncomfortable. For that I'm sorry. Reality just isn't fun. Especially when it comes to outdoor cats. Nathan and I decided a long time ago our cats together would be all indoor kitties for this very reason.
Don't feel bad, that's why this thread is here. It's hard enough to lose them, let alone when its traumatic.

I am so sorry. I am crying reading this. Like everyone else said, the only thing that will make this better is time and a shoulder to lean on. I wish you the best

Re: What can you say when something so horrible happens?

There was a black cat that used to come around my house, in KS when I lived there, for about 2 yrs and I felt like she was my cat. I played with her and fed her. She guarded the trailer in the back yard that had the birds in it (she slept under it and made sure no mice got in there or the house). She was a very sweet and loving cat but never did she come in the house. One Sunday on my way home from church I saw her in front of the house on the side of the road dead. I parked my car and ran over to her and started to scream/cry. I ran in the house and got my dad. He took her out back and buried her next to my cockatiel that had died earlier in the year. I know how you feel. You don't know exactly what to say except for I am sorry but you do remember the wonderful times you had with them always.

That's one of the most tragic ways I've ever heard of losing a pet. I got pretty teary reading it, how awful! I hope your kids are okay--- that's an terrible thing to witness at any age. I'm very sorry for your loss.

: What a sad story. My sympathies, as no one should have to endure something like that. RIP Mouse.

    Can't imagine how you feel.

I have friends who say Snakes aren't cute. Every time they do, I count it, so I can use it against them in arguments later on.
