Humidity TOO HIGH

Hello members of BP.net I now own two snakes, a 8 month old pastel female and a 2 month old spider male. anyways I have my snakes in a 27 quart plastic tub with holes n the sides and on the lid itself. ambient temp stays around 80 degrees F. and drops to 78 at night undertank heater keeps hotspot an average of 86 degrees... i use aspen snake bedding and have been noticing that the humidity is way too high my acurite thermostat/ humidity guage reads an average of 77-80% humidity generally not mosit and I clean often but what can I do to lower the humidity please help I dont want them to get RIs

I had the same problem a few months ago, but with 90-100% humidity.You could use a smaller water dish or add more holes. But rule of thumb, if there's no visible moisture on the sides of the tub or damp substrate, then I wouldn't worry too much.

A lot of people use 70+% humidity for their normal set ups, not just during shed periods. I know the caresheet says 50-60%, but its normal to be 70-80% humidity in Africa.
