    First Shed

Both my male and female I bought on Dec. 23rd are showing signs of their first shed coming on. The humidity is right, they have a water bowl big enough to soak. They are my first snakes, so I am a nooby, my question is should I give them a nice warm soak to help along the process? Or just let them have at it themselves? Any input is appreciated.

Basically leave them be.. You are doing well...
Ensure there is something in the enclosure they can use to assist their shed, Log hide or Bark, branch or rock hide will do.

    Here's a Tip:
The day the eyes clear, give a soak in a warm bath and they should shed within 24hrs...

Well in addition to their water bowl. I placed a humid hide on the hot side of the enclosure. They seem to be loving that in general. But their eyes are still cloudy,so ill just leave them alone now. Thanks for your input.

The humid hide will work great. If your humidity is correct they will shed without any help.

Just a quick question. Do you have them both in the same enclosure?

    Re: First Shed

Yeah both are in the same enclosure a 55g tank. I am in the process of building a custom display cage. Both snakes feed every five days on a mediumish size mouse. Both are nice and thick, roughly 16" long. There are three hides, four with the humid hide. With plenty of climbing and thermoregulating space. Neither snake shows signs of stress from being housed together. So im not stressing it until my own custom cage is finished. And the temps stay roughly 78 on the cool side, 88 on the warm side with a surface heat of 96 from the UTH. Humidity avgs around 65% to 85%.
