Unhappy Which direction would you take in 2012/2013?

As most of you know, I've been blessed with alot of morphs that I was not expecting to own...ever. This opens up my breeding plan to a slew of new and different directions once the new additions have been fed up and are healthy etc..

    BREEDING PLAN #1
My original direction I was headed in was to produce bumblebees and later killerbees as well as fireflies and super flies with my original animals...
this plan is short and to the point.

    '06 0.1 Pastel
    '10 0.1 Pastel
    '07 1.0 Spider
    '11 1.0 Fire

    BREEDING PLAN #2
Now, with the new additions I am left confused and slightly overwhelmed with the prospects of all the different directions I could go and I need advice! I have the chance to produce BELs, pastel and yellowbelly genetic stripes and pastel lessers...

    '09 1.0 Lesser
    '09 1.0 Genetic Stripe
    '10 0.1 Pastel het GS
    '10 0.1 Yellowbelly het GS
    '10 0.1 Mojave
    '09 0.1 Pastel

Now, I am planning on spending $1000 in February to build up my collection.
    My original choices were...

    '09 or older 0.1 Pewter
    hatchling 0.1 pewter/1.0 lemonblast pair
    '09 or older 0.1 Fire
    hatchling 0.1 cinnamon het GS/ 0.1 1.0 pinstripe pair
    Balls:
    0.1 '?? Normal
    0.1 '10 Pastel
0.1 '10 Yellowbelly het Genetic Stripe
    1.0 '11 Lesser
    1.0 '09 Lesser
    1.0 '11 Fire
    1.0 '07 Spider
    1.0 '11 Black Pastel

    1.0 '81 Husband
    2.0 '03/'10 Offspring
Gravid with 1.0.1 twins due Oct 9th 2012

You have what I want but all babies for me throw in an axanthic and some patience and years later Axanthic Killer Bees

Eventually I will have one and name it cookies n cream sooo beautiful, for now I plan to start with a bunch of dom/co dom morphs for my first breeding season and then after that maybe start getting into recessive genes

I voted pewter cuz I love them and that's the direction I was headed. But with it u can add new genes to ur breeding and have more possibilities. It's really up to u and what u want to see poke out of that egg
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.

I see the attraction of the almost-mature fire female, given your male fire. And if you really really want the BlckEL, I'd still go that way.

But I'd like to see some pinstripes and/or lemonblasts in there! I think you can have a lot of fun with jigsaws and kingpins and spinner blasts. And the fire can still make fireflies with the pastels.

I would always go with multi-gene animals.

I'd go multi gene as well, but also something to consider.. At the moment it seem you have 4 males for 6 females, I think your plans would be more efficient if you evened it out to at least 1 male per 3 females (that is if you want to maximize breeding potential)

I love genetic stripes and all recessive genes for that matter. The fact that they take longer to produce is appealing to me. I would go for some more mixes of het for genetic stripes for now, its a longer-term project but the end results will be awesome!

    Good luck
    Matt

Re: Which direction would you take in 2012/2013?

I voted pewter/lemonblast, but would actually go for females for both of them. If your rescues continue to recover well, then you'll already have plenty of breeding to do next fall, so you can give those girls a chance to grow up. As mattchibi said, you seem a little male heavy, and really can't go wrong adding those genes in on either side of the gender card.

I'd say Black Pewter only because you won't find a breeder size female fire, and if you do it won't be 1000$. I prefer the Black Pewters to the Cinni's but that is just my preferance.
