Rescued a Couple of BPs Today
Found a female normal on craigslist and went to pick her up. When I arrived, there were 2, a male and female (they know that she is, in fact, a she, because she laid eggs about a year ago). They were housed together in a 55 gallon tank with a screen top, in a basement, with no light, and no heat whatsoever. There was a clamp lamp, but the owner said the bulb had gone out a couple weeks ago and they hadn't had a chance to replace it. They were on river rock substrate and there was pieces of shed all over the place. They did have water, though. They were both under a rock hide and were so cold I thought for sure they were dead.
I initially only wanted the female, but couldn't, in good conscience, leave the male behind. So they both came home with me. Managed to pee on me on the way home, but hey...I'll take it. Gave them a quick bath to get the dried urates off of them (they were COVERED), and got them setup in quarantine. In a week or so I'll try to get some food in them. They look quite skinny (at least compared to my plump piggies).

Female
Both
Having a nice bath (excuse my dirty tub)
And of course, as with anything new that comes into the house, Archie was there to observe.

Nice rescue! They are very pretty normals, even the male! Good for you for saving them, they look a little skinny but nothing some good husbandry and food can't fix!
