Heat source
Just curious as to which heat source is best for a Dumeril Boa. Belly heat or back heat? Doing a little research just in case
Thanks

Re: Heat source
That really depends on the enclosure. In an enclosure with the appropriate ambient temp, belly heat would be the best. In an enclosure that the ambient temp is too cold, a radiant heat panel would be the best. The only time that back heat is even usable, IMO, is on very small tubs in rack systems.

^^ Totally agree!
I love the radient heat panels in my pvc cages! I think they work better than a UTH for that type of cage. And they're very safe. I like using the UTHs in a tank or tub, but the RHPs are great for anything else!

I have a RHP in my Boas enclosure. If I decided ever to get a Dumeril I would probably get one of the enclosures like I have for my boa from Boamaster. I like the size and they are stackable. Just wanted to make sure the RHP's were ok for a Dumeril.
Thanks

Indeed, my AP and my boaphile both have RHP's. The only way to go in my opinion.
