    snake handling courses

ive been looking around to apprentice with hots but have had no luck. i looked at snake handling courses but they all seem to be in Africa and Austrailia. i realize a course over a couple days isnt nearly enough time to become proficient in any way. i'm just looking for some more GOOD experience with someone who has good habits and training.

i have handled hots before but the guys i worked with didnt have much knowledge. i asked a lot of questions and got a lot of "i dont know". i have also had to remove rattle snakes and copper heads from my yard and camp sites growing up.

does anyone know of any thing like this or would anyone be willing to help me out?

    thanks
    Luke

    Re: snake handling courses

Well Luke this is I believe your 3rd post on the subject so it’s clear to me at least that your serious about learning to handle hots, and I’m sure by now clear to you that the venomous community is not really open to exposing themselves to strangers. I had to teach myself most everything I learned about handling hots and although I never did pay for it I did have 1 close call from an animal that there is no anti-venom for. I would recommend that maybe you should try to get to the Hamburg Pa show. There will be a ton of hot keepers there and I think it’s 2 days long so you’ll have lots of opportunity to meet people that might be willing to help you out after they have a chance to meet you and see that your serious and really want to start down this path the right way. I’d offer to help you personally but being that I live in Toronto and no longer keep any hot’s I doubt I could be much help.
