Isis
I didn't understand you I don't know why you left I just know feeling you die in my hands is the last thing I would ever wish on another person Isis was a normal female ball python who was a yearling and stopped eating she puked up any assist fed food and only ate on her own twice I held her in her last moments of life she no longer reacted to my touch and was stiff the next day I still don't know why she refused everything she went 6 months off feed then ate on her own twice and then puked up any assist fed food until she died there was no sickness (took her to a vet for antibiotics) her tub was the same as everyone else's habitat and they are all fine She was VERY aggressive and I only had her for 9 months

Re: Isis
I'm so sorry for your loss . I definitely know what it's like for a snake to die in your hands--it's truly awful.
Sometimes snakes may die for apparently no reason. Even though this is rare, it has happened before. She could have been more likely very weak from regurgitating meals after months of refusing.
Again very sorry . I always offer anyone to send me a PM when they're going through times like this, and offer the same to you . Feel better--time heals.

Sorry for your loss. Could have been crypto, which just took one of my geckos.
Crypto normally isn't tested for, and if you keep good husbandry and don't cross contaminate, you may never know.

Sorry for your loss dude. I once had a baby albino burmese die in my hands. I felt aweful. It was during a "last attempt" to get a mouse pinky into her and she just gave up. Sometimes animals just don't make it. If I could give you any advice, I would say, be proud knowing that you did your part and grateful for the experiences you had with Isis. Experience is a gift we don't always realize we have received until later down the road.
