Meet Dezzie my first rescue :)

So to make a long story short Dezzie is the snake of a fellow church member who is no longer allowed to keep her at her house anymore. So I went to pick her up today and well she was in a little trouble. First Humidity was nill less than 40% no t-stat or even thermometers and on aspen bedding about 3 in deep. A little stuck shed from a couple weeks ago and only one hide about the right size for her. Got her home and checked her for RI and Mites no signs yet but QT has started. So off to HD got a dimmer and Thermometer/Hygromemter and sterilized her tank taped the UTH to the tank and added new Eco Earth substrate. About 20 min with a wet towel and 95% of the shed is off. She seems to be a friendly snake and well aclimated to people. She is doing fine and getting settled here are a couple pics ill keep you all informed.

Re: Meet Dezzie my first rescue :)

Update Dezzie had a nearly perfect shed Just a little difficulty getting the nose loose. But I think she had a burn from the CHE kept on top of the screen lid. But she did get it all off which was kind of a suprize because she went blue Sunday/Monday and had not cleared her eye this morning. When I got home there was a nice clean shed waiting for me and well she look great. She is eating very well and has moved up to large med rats 100-150G and well a great snake all around

Congrats on picking her up! She looks good!

Is that dirt you are using for substrate? I really wouldn't use anything but aspen, newspaper, or paper towels because they are sterile and usually don't have bugs. The aspen can have mites/mite eggs if you get it from the pet store. Dirt/coco fiber/mulch can get wet and grow bacteria pretty quick, not to mention they can ingest those types of beddings. If you are using that bedding for humidity, I would go with aspen.
