    Unhappy ASF Murder?

I have a 1.3 established about 5 weeks ago. Everyone seemed to be doing fine, until last night. The smallest female was shredded in the tub this morning. I've been feeding them 3-4 pieces of mazuri a day in the morning and then veggies or fruit at night (sometimes crickets or mealworms). Did I underfeed them and they killed the smallest for food? Should I just leave them as a 1.2 now? Everyone looked ok last night, then ASF murder...

    Thanks

Probably. I would recomend you try a more traditional feeding plan.

You could leave them at 1.2 for now but I would replace them asap.

Do you mean feed off the remaining 1.2 and start a whole new colony? More traditional would mean just putting in more food each day or a hopper?

    Thanks

Were you giving 3 pieces each, or 3 pieces for them all?

What's most likely is they just didn't like her. If the colony stabilizes, things should be fine. Just make sure however much food you're giving them, they're eating it and being satiated, and not eating it and looking for more.

I was feeding them 3 pieces for all of them, because I was feeding 6-8 and someone said it was too much. Should I just do a hopper or put a small pile in every day?? I was doing fruits or veggies or insects at night too.

    Thanks

3 pieces each is more like the amount you should be feeding. Try bumping up to that if you want to be number specific, and you should see improvements.

    They were probably hungry.
