    RI worry

i got 2 2011 ball pythons and i check their mouth earlier with a q-tip

both of them have about 2-10 very small bubbles on the throat hole and now im worry if they have a RI.
i think i over mist the cages but i always wipe off the excess water of the sides and the lid of the bin.

    i keep both in a 15qt rubbermaid,ambient temperature 72-76,hot spot 88-93,substrate is cocohusk

I would make a appt at the closest vet that excepts reptiles. Just to be sure. Is there any popping or cracking sounds coming from them. Are they opening there mouths? Wheezing?
    A bunch of carpet pythons!
I guess fake is the new real ?

    Re: RI worry

I think you need to raise your cool side temps to at least 80/81.

Ya definitely warm them up a bit. Hold there bodies up to ur ear and when they breath if u hear popping or any noise then u should find a vet. Stress can lower their immune system causing bacteria to be able to take over and make them sick so don't go messing with em.

I'm currently going through the same thing. My little enchi had some bubbles coming out if his mouth with his tongue (not his nose) when he threw a hissy fit - he loves to hiss at me whenever I open his tub.

When I opened his mouth he only had a few bubbles in the back of his throat. I took him to the vet and we are currently treating him for a RI. He had no other signs of a RI like yours, but it's always better safe than sorry. I bumped up my temps and he's about half way through the antibiotics and I haven't seen any more bubbles.

I would definitely take him to a GOOD reptile vet. Also, just because someone will see exotics does not make them a good reptile vet. When I only had two snakes I took them to the same place I take my dog and I will never do that again. They said they knew about snakes, but they really didn't. I eventually found a great vet and he's the one I go to now.
