    Kitty got himself hurt!(graphic)

Ohh goodness. Our cat forest got himself injured somehow. We think he got an abscess because of the shape of the injury, but it's HUGE!

This all happened a few days ago, and now forest is getting closer to being all healed up and I have pictures, so I figured I'd share our ridiculous kitty injury adventure.

Here is what we saw on his leg the other day:

Yikes! He was just acting like normal of course. That's a cat for ya.. The vet actually had trouble listening for his heartbeat because he wouldn't stop purring

He had to get stitches and these nasty tubes to allow fluid to drain.. Gross!

And of course the terrible cone. But he keeps trying to bite at the stitches even through the cone. He's REALLY good at getting the cone off too, so we'll have to watch him and make sure he doesn't get it off and rip up the stitches.

He's already gotten the tubes out so now he's just got the stitches left which should be removed monday.

I told you I'd get pictures of forest, I didn't realize they would be like this!

Here's one of him just being adorable and snuggly while he was still loopy from all the pain meds! Poor little kitty!

I just thought I would share the craziness going on in our lives. The crazy thing was dealing with vets! The first one we called said stitches alone would start at 800, not counting the anesthesia or pain meds and the time it takes. The next vet(our regular vet) said 300. The only reason the first was 800 was it's the only 24 hour vet in our area.. It's crazy!

Silly kitty! He's awefully cute, even as a cone head!! Glad to see he's doing better, I hope he doesn't get those stitches out before they should be!

Poor guy my experience is it is usually another cat bite that causes nasty abcess like that. Okay just wrinkled my nose. The smell and I am not even there. I once was assistanting a dumb dumb vet and holding a cat, he pushed an abcess on the head of a cat and plastered me with grossness.

Hope he heals soon and oh thanks for the memories of my vet days. LOL

I wish your kitteh a fast recovery, looks painful. He also looks quite happy getting pet in the picture with the cone.

Oh man, my moms cat got tossed around by a mountain lion. Yes it was a mountain lion- we actually saw it happen. My mother was really upset. The poor thing had so many stitches she looked like Dr. Frankenstein's cat. She's better now. But it took a long time. I hate it when kitties get roughed up. They are resilient though. Its just costly. Yours seems to have found himself a good family. I love that last picture of him. He's a winner
