Reptaid? does anyone use this vitamin for bps??

hi, i just saw this product and google it... it seems good but anyone got experience in this vitamin?

It's my understanding that Bp's (and many snakes) don't need them. They get all the vitamins they really need from their food. In some cases vitamins are bad, I can't remember what ones do what in excess but unless your vet recommends them I would advise against them. They can be used in several circumstances but those are normally prescribed by the vet as treatments or a nutritional boost while healing.

I know some block the processing of calcium, some can do damage to their internal organs.

Indeed, all nutrition from the food. I've never used vitamins.

Yeah but I'd be careful because you don't know anything other then "he used vitamins", such as how much per serving, how often, etc.

I'm curious myself, but if I did it I wouldn't powder a mouse no more then once a month for a few months until I was sure otherwise.

He doesn't inject it, he commented that he uses Reptaid; Reptaid is a powdered vitamin that people coat crickets/mealworms with; I think they can be gutted with it too.

I don't know the biology of a mouse, but assuming that they have such a high metabolism I'd think you'd get more mileage out of sprinkling the mouse with vitamins instead of feeding it to them prior to feeding the mouse to the snake. I've never owned the type of snake he has though, I don't know how often you feed them or how fast they can process a meal. If it's similar to bp, it's probably as easy as rinsing a live mouse and coating it with minerals while it's wet and feeding it that way. But again with so many variables who knows how dangerous it is; if you try it I'd only do it once or twice a month at most and see how your bp looks after a few months.

Gonna go ahead and make sure it's understood that that's all guess work though lol.
