    thermostat Temp?

    Hey Guys,

This is probably a silly question but I just bought a rack! YAY! And its heated from the back with Flexwatt. I bought a Herpstat II for it but Im not 100% sure what to set it to. For our glass enclusre we have our UTH set to 90.5 but the heat source is different. I was curious as to what I should set the Herpstat to? Thanks

No one can answer that it depends on too many variable, make sure the probe is secured to the heat tape set it up on 90 to start with than get a reading of your warm side with a digital thermometer and adjust as needed according to the temps you are getting.

You might have to set it at 90 to get a hot spot of 90 or you might have to set it on 95 or more to get a hot spot of 90 it depends on the rack, the tubs, space between heat tape and tubs, substrate etc.

Bottom line it will take some playing around on your part to find the right setting.
