    poor baby normal female....

So today is feeding day and when i went to go feed my baby female i noticed she had black stuff around the right side of mouth. I quickly thought something was terribly wrong with her. I just got her last week. I quickly googled symptoms of RI. I didnt hear any noise coming from her when i put her next to my ear. But i did see little bubbles coming from her mouth. I came across a video that showed me how to open her mouth and when i did, i saw that she had gotten substrate in her mouth. It was quite a lot for her little mouth. It was blocking her air way. I cleaned it all out and quickly cleaned her tub and change the substate to just newspaper. I am keeping a close eye on her just in case anything happens. I tried feeding her when i first noticed the black stuff and she didnt eat. After i cleaned her mouth and made sure all the substrate was out of her mouth i tried feeding her again and surely she ate. I was so excited when she did finally eat. here are some quick pics i took

sorry if they are a little blurry i zoomed in with my iphone

Good looking snake, I use paper towel for mine now for the same reason plantaion soil build up after a missed strike. Plus its easy for mites to pop up and grow in it.

Thanks. She was really dark when she was in shed so when she finally did shed i was totally surprised of the color.

Yea im sticking to paper towel and newspaper for substrate not taking the risk of that happening again.

One side of the mouth open like that could be a sign of mouth rot. Take a look on google just to be safe. Hope it all works out for you!

It was substrate. I took it out of her mouth already and her mouth Is all pink now. I was thinking she must have gotten it in her mouth while she was getting off her shed
