    Kingpin X Lemon Pastel clutch

    Hi,

My clutch of 5 eggs from a Kingpin X Lemon Pastel just hatched. I got 2 normals, 1 pastel, and 2 lessers (I think). Do you think they are lessers or lesser pastels? I can't find any decent comparison pics. What do you think? Does anyone know any distinguishing features between the lessers and lesser pastels?

    Thanks!!

Wow they are beautiful! That one is extra extra light. I'm terrible at picking out lesser pastels, so someone else will have to chime in. I know some people wait for a shed or two to decide for sure whether or not they are lesser pastels.

I agree, wait a couple sheds, but my gut feeling is telling me the one on the left is lesser pastel, and the one on the right is a regular lesser.

The one on the left is just overall way more yellow.

Re: Kingpin X Lemon Pastel clutch

Hi, congrats on the nice clutch... from those pics I would say there are very nice looking lesser's... Pastel lesser's tend to have lighter heads... Here is a clutch I hatched out with some pastel butters to give you an idea(they are in upper left corner and bottom of the pic) hope this helps... but like others said should be able to tell better once they shed..

Wouldn't all the pastel lessers have green eyes? I have never seen one in person, but I'd think so.

Well you said you bred a Kingpin to a lemon pastel, and theirs no lesser going in that pair up, to me they look like butters, because I kingpin is Pinstripe x butter, see if its that, either way you bred some niceee looking snakess

Those are both nice lessers. Pastel lessers have really light silver heads. Here is a pic of a pastel lesser (on the right) and lesser that hatched a couple weeks ago.

For some reason the pic uploaded sideways. The pastel lesser is on the bottom.

Re: Kingpin X Lemon Pastel clutch

    JayyPastel24 - My kingpin is a lesser/pinstripe. From my understanding, a kingpin can be made by a butter/pinstripe or a lesser/pinstripe.

wRobio - Thanks for the GREAT comparison shot! That makes it very clear. Your pastel lesser almost looks like a super pastel, very cool!

Man, I got 0 double combos from a three gene pairing =(. And the ENTIRE clutch is male!! There's always next year...
