When getting a new snake....
So I've read anytime you add to your collection you should always quarantine the snake in a different room and not in the room with your other snakes. I was just wondering if you would have to do this every time even though i got the snake through a trusted breeder?. I know it wouldn't hurt to quarantine. Is there anything that needs to be done to the snake when in quarantine? or just leave alone in a different room.

When you quarantine basically you do leave them alone. You will want to have a different set of equipment too. When I quarantine mine they are in a separate room and I try to check on them every other day or so, but I never handle any of my established collection again until I've showered and changed my clothes. I use different feeding tongs for them, and I try to feed on a different day. I also clean their cages last.
It doesn't really matter who you got them from because you don't know what they could have been exposed to during shipping or at a reptile expo.
If you add a new snake while you have one in quarantine you reset the quarantine clock so they all leave quarantine at the same time.
It's not worth it to risk your existing collection.

Ok when i get home today i will put my female in a different room and start the quarantine process. I put them in the same room because they share the same thermostat. The female is a tub with a UTH and im scared that if i just plug the UTH in the wall with no thermostat that it will get too hot.

I would still move her to a different room. If the cages were right next to each other it might be a little too late, but it never hurts to be safe.

You can use a dimmer for the time being, you will just need to monitor it.

They tub is next to my pastel which is in a tank. Well the tub is on a side table which is close to the tank but the tank is on a corner desk. I know it still close but I will still just separate them just in case. Thanks guys!
