I've had people freak out when I mentioned that I had a ball python. They're like "Pythons get so big! It's going to squeeze you to death!" I said, "Oh no, he only gets about 4 feet." And they replied "That's still enough to wrap around you or your neck!" I just told them that yes, he makes a nice necklace, as for wrapping around me, he is a very poor belt... I hear even worse about my boa.

what is fun is to tell people about pigmy pythons because they dont get longer then 2ft ever. people seem to be in shock and awe when they realize that just because python is in its name doesnt mean 20+ ft.

Every time anyone in my apartment gets a minor injury like a cut people ask if it came from my snake.

My one flat mate is a welder and dropped the gun which burned her twice on the way down. It looked like a pair of fangs went into her leg. Perfectly round puncture/burn marks about 4-5 inches apart. Everyone thought it was a "snake bite." Not sure how big of a snake that would have had to have been.
